It is not prejudice. I am not pre-judging. I am judging.
The ones who did it are bad enough. The ones who protected them suck too.
I do not give a flying fuck about catholic "doctrine." That's just as silly as any other religious crap. It's the organization and business of catholicism that requires serious sanctions.
But don't you think a person can still believe in a religion, even though there are people within that religion that are not good people? Yes, what those clergymen did was horrible. But I am still Catholic because I still believe in the teachings of the Church. None of which say pedophilia or covering up pedophiles is ok. I neither molested anyone, or protected anyone who did... so I shouldn't be judged for that. So when you say you don't like someone simply because they are Catholic, this sounds like kind of a bigoted statement.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
