The examples of shutting down free speech on campuses haven't really been in the corporate news, but have been covered in the independent media. Yale university is an example where two liberal professors apparently were not liberal enough, and said it was not ok to shut down Halloween parties because it would be restricting people's free speech of dressing up in costumes even if they offended some people. Well that was interpreted as an act of violence by creating an atmosphere where people felt threatened, so they demanded they be fired, and they ended up resigning I think because the students wouldn't give up until their demands were met. The students don't think college is a space about creating an intellectual space, it's about creating a home and a safe space. This is the future of America people:

Now we have radical leftists demanding CNN remove all political analysts from covering Trump. This is what we are dealing with nowadays. The left used to be all about being tolerant and supporting free speech. Now it's all about shutting down speech they don't agree with. 20,000 supporters of colorofchange.org have sent emails according to them.

It's just getting bizarre. Another example of a black cop that decided to go to a Trump event in Arizona just to see what was going on since he heard everything the media is talking about. What he found was almost the opposite. He talks about his experience of protestors dressed up as KKK, swearing at young children, yelling at everyone who was there to see Trump, and grabbing people trying to start fights. Also found that most of the Trump supporters were very peacefull unlike the hate filled protestors. After listening to Trump he left with a whole new perspective and realizing the media is misleading their viewers about Trump speeches.

You're just describing what the rest of the world already knows.
Americans can be rather extreme about things.
