Really? Because that's not what the term assault weapon means, in our laws, nor is the german language referred to. Nor is an assault weapon an assault rifle, the latter being a well defined and well regulated group..the former being a peice of social engineering that's profited gun control groups, gun rights advocates...and perhaps more than either of those two, gun manufacturers. Cletus really thinks he's buying a piece of military hardware when he buys an AR, the idea of that scares the shit out of John, and William takes them both to the cleaners on account of it. I would -love- to see some facts injected into the gun debate, but I don't see how this accomplishes that.
No opinions on any of my questions? How about a simpler one? Does it seem productive, to you, that an assault weapon ban applies to that win190, insomuch as it's just as illegal and for the same reasons as the MPAR chambered for the same round by the terms as defined in the ban..but not -actionable- in either case due to grandfathering?
@KUSA Liberal, conservative, centrist, it hardly seems to matter. No one can consistently decide what it is, exactly, that they're talking about or legislating against, or why. That -might- explain our gun policy failure. I'm sure someone is ready to call me a crazy gun nut on account of that suggestion, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. It's not hard to see why gun rights groups have been so successful when you actually take a look at some of these laws. Personally, I'm tired of the outrage and ridicule that gun control advocates who propose laws that would bar me from owning a rifle but not the orlando shooter express when someone so much as hints at their own incompetence as a major barrier to gun control reform, even moreso than their favorite batshit punching bags, the NRA. If they're babbling idiots (and they are), gun control advocates are getting trounced by babbling idiots. At some point they're going to have to assume a little responsibility for that, and you'd think they'd at least be curious as to why their well meaning laws are so damned easy for idiots to contest.
It isn't the gun safety advocates that want to punish all gun owners, I am tired of that bullshit slur. And how dare you claim nobody should be "outraged". It is the gun worshipers and blood lobby that stifle everything at every turn.
"Well meaning", no if we had national consistency on gun laws we could reduce gun deaths. But we aren't the ones who advocate "sell more guns" and "do nothing" that is the blood lobby NRA.
