As promised a couple weeks ago (I finally got 'round to post-processing some photos) here are some photos from my most recent day in the mountains.
First stop, Eldorado State Park:
The view to the east from inside the canyon.
And, the view to the west.
Eldorado is one of Colorado's smallest state parks, encompassing just Eldorado Canyon and some of the surrounding hill sides. That being said, it's also one of the most beautiful and easily accessible of Colorado's state parks. None of the trails are rated at more than moderate difficulty and the scenery they pass through is a lush haven in a dry climate.
After Eldorado, I drove through Golden Gate state park and got to meet some of the neighbors.
Momma and her babies were in no hurry to get out of the way. Nor was I in a hurry for them to leave.
Keeping an eye on the kids.
More play time.
Mom keeping an eye on the intruder (me).
And, deciding that I'm no threat.
