No, the radiation beam is (supposedly) very directed and while there's scatter, there's not a lot of it. It's a little freaky when I first get in the machine because I have to have my head tilted to the right (so they can irradiate a part of my neck without getting my chin or jaw) and the starting position of the machine is about a foot from my face so I can see right into the machine as it changes its beam shapes.
