One thing I keep encountering with older people:
They point to their heads and state, "Up here, I still feel as though I'm twenty." Gesturing to their bodies, they continue, "Yet the body doesn't match."
Using this mentality as a reference point, it is sometimes easy to discern the differences in personality; especially, how some people do not mentally mature beyond a certain age despite their bodies aging. Yet I'm uncertain how it explains how some young people can be mentally mature while their bodies show us they're in preadolescence. Perhaps, like time, mental aging is not as linear as we would like to perceive it to be.
