I don't really understand why it shines so delightfully bright like that under flash. Wonder how it looks under UV. It's really more dark grey than silver in normal light. The manufacturer, Alpha Industries, supplies the uniforms for some of the NASA operatives, the shop assistant told me, so I think I'll fantasise it's some kind of special prototype sciencey paint
Oh dear. I can find no mention of Alpha Industries ever clothing NASA staff, online. I did find this however:
I was clearly fed a line of bullshit by that store. That'll teach me to impulse buy because I'm in a good mood and feeling flush. I feel like I've been robbed. Propping up the US (or any (Saudi Arabia?! Me?!)) military industrial complex is rarely high on my todo list, to say the least. I might as well have bought an M16 and 20 clips. Fuck. I'm back there tomorrow and the whole shop is gonna get carefully planned purgatory. Then I'll buy an item from the NASA shop.
I mean, I'm wearing a poppy on my jacket and simultaneously putting £90 in the pockets of people who clothe the Argentinian military...very bad fucking vibes.

Quote:During the latter decades of the 20th century Alpha produced clothing for military organizations throughout the world including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Chile, Ecuador, Holland, Jordan, New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Uruguay and many more.
