You do get that uncanny feeling when you see yourself the right way around, a bit like you never sound right when you listen to your own recorded voice.
But, weekend it's time to show yourself to others, you should flip your photos, as that's how they perceive you.
My phone's front camera mirrors the image through the viewscreen but when you take a picture or record the video it automatically captures it in unmirrored. That is the best of both worlds right there. And that's becuase I have mirrored disabled for capture.

Maybe it's worth spending a few minutes tweaking the settings to your liking.
I did, there is no option to keep user mode as default and no option to auto disable timer on close. That's how the stock camera app is on all samsung phones.
