Me talking to the Hyundai service manager about my 06 Sonata a couple of years ago.
Me, “The carpet in the rear floorboard is factory defective.”
Service manager, “There’s no such thing as factory defective carpet in a 4 year old car. It’s wear.”
Me, “I doubt it because I can count the times someone has been in the back on my fingers. Why don’t you check it out before you make that call?”
Service manager, “OK.” Walks to car, reaches into the rear floorboard, and comes back out with a big handful of carpet fiber. “Huh, factory defective. We’ll replace it.”
Can't speak to Scion but Hyundai beats the shit out of Toyota in the bang for the buck department. At least they did when we were comparing. A Camry with options comparable to the Sonata we bought was 20% more.
