Para-atheism

RE: Para-atheism
Well, the carrot for Buddhism is obviously re-incarnation. If you don't have a gazillion lifecycles waiting for you to behave, the entire motivation just vaporises.

Of course there's still the option of being a good person because you think it's the Right Thing to do, but everybody knows there's no morals outside religion, right? Right? I kid.

By the way, if you want to distinguish the groups with labels, I think "supernaturalist" and "naturalistic" would be the right ones.

The only kind of supernaturalist atheists I could imagine are those who haven't been deconverted by logical reasoning but by emotional factors or intuition, but with all the new agers, who knows.

Yeah well, like I mentioned...in group 2 I was not just including the rare occasion of supernatualist atheists; I was also including superstitious atheists....atheists that believe in astrology (for example)...that would still be in group 2 IMO...I think astrology - like The Law Of Attraction - CLAIMS to be science when in fact it's a faith...it's supernatural...the only reason it's considered superstitious rather than supernatural is because it claims to be natural - it claims to be science. Really its not natural science it's supernatural faith disguised as natural science. It's a fake science.

Pseudoscience is mostly supernaturalist. Whether you call it superstition or not doesn't matter -- it's just as invalid as any other pseudoscience or supernaturalist claim.
