You could then imagine that, after several million years, a vast area of the galaxy has been populated by this first inter-stellar journey and a whole web of colonised worlds now exist spreading out in all directions from the original home planet.

Evolution would of course still take place, either by natural or artificial selection and it is not too implausible I think to imagine that after enough time has passed by the original memory of the first race and it's great quest for colonisation will be lost. Many races, now seemingly alien to each other would be spread-out through, possibly hundreds of light years of the galaxy.

g-mark is correct. UFO's have been widely documented throughout history. However he forgets one thing, what UFO stands for:

Unidentified Flying Object.

If something is Unidentified, it means nobody knows what it is. It doesn't equate to an extraterrestrial origin.

I find that people who say UFO's do not exist or are not well documented tend not to have looked into the subject beyond the latest sci-fi movie.

You are quite right, Adrian. Any UFOoligist who claims that UFO's are definetly alien tend to be nuts. However, there is something behind it. Wether that is electro-magnetic activity around the lower/upper atmosphere, some kind of mass illusion or actual extra-terrestrials (or extra terrestrials-see what I did there?) I do not claim to know, but it will be intresting to find out.

Oh, I agree on the promotion part.....But it does give a little bit of thought in that man has been wanting to fly for thousands of years.......The drawings and paintings at least show that much...As far as the cave painting.....That could have been a sky with the sun above it like a ball and rain coming from the clouds... Looks about right.....
