What's growing in your garden?

RE: What's growing in your garden?
I went on a garden tour last Saturday and saw four wonderful gardens in the San Francisco area, all in the East bay. Here are a couple snaps. There are a few more of each of these back on my flickr site.

You've got to love succulents, don't you?

But what about the color orange? Not everyone's cup of tea but so good for a bright sunny spot like this next one .. and a big favorite of mine too.

Not really. A natural orange on a flower is just very attractive to me (my favorite color is actually red, lol).

A favorite of mine, the rarest, largest and orangest passion flower of them all:

Aye, aye. In an area of water scarcity you've got to be glad to get it. (I'm in the same boat.)

Meanwhile my beautiful swamp is drying up and all of the lakes, creeks, and rivers that form the fabric of my earliest memories have been replaced by non-descript, weedy, and most importantly fish-less little meadows. You bastards are stealing my childhood!

I say we invade and take back the damned water.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The garden today:

View upon entering the back garden.

Turning down the near path to the pond.

View from beyond the pond back down both the near and far paths.

Looking down the far path, past the Y and on to corner deck.

Fletcher arriving at the Y from the far path.

Fletcher at the fork in the Y, from the far path back through the center arch.

Heidi at the Y, with the opening through the center arch behind.
