Hello Everyone!

You can call me 'Guppy' for short. I broke free from the Roman Catholic brainwashing about 5 years ago and am free of the life-wasting nonsense that they punish your intelligent mind with from a very young age. Since my this very young age, I was always skeptical of this b*llsh!t and it made my life difficult especially considering the fact that I was forced to be an alter-boy and go through all the rituals (Communion, etc). But, that's all behind me and I'm here to help anyone get beyond that crap!

Now, while I love the fact that I now have a home with like-minded individuals, I do not consider myself an 'Atheist'. This historically derogatorily & inaccurately used term only perpetuates the negative connotation that the weak & feeble minded hold onto as an explanation / reason for my separation from their fantasy world. How could I ever be without something that never existed in the first place? Can I get a "Ramen"? *Smirk*

Anyways, I have come to the conclusion that this term provides an avenue of connection to sane people and, thus, I am very happy to be here. Thanks for reading my introduction and my, still very much bottled-up, rantSmile

You seem like a fun one, good to have you aboard.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? How bad was it? I didn't really get brainwashed too bad; it's not that they didn't try (although I'm sure the bible belt could have done much worse) but I only ever casually believed to begin with. I realized there wasn't a god the moment I realized 'none of the above' was even an option.
