The Anime Thread

RE: The Anime Thread
I've been watching a new anime called "Psycho-Pass" this season. It is awesome! It is a Cyberpunk, Dystopian, Science fiction, Thriller... and just pretty damn dark. Fun for the whole family.

Esquilax is introducing me to anime. Got me hooked by starting us off with HELLSING. Hells. yes.

PS, Missed you a lil, Gilgamesh!
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I liked (not loved) Hellsing Ultimate. Didn't like the original Hellsing so much. Meh.

Only bunnies could be so... gore-loving.

I knew there was something dangerous about you!

RE: The Anime Thread
I'm going to echo the people who mentioned Rurouni Kenshin. I started out by watching the "Trust & Betrayal" OVA's and was actually a little disappointed about how light-hearted the main series was by comparison. I came to love it though, both manga and anime.

I was recently coaxed into watching "Tonari no Totoro" which is apparently really significant and popular. I felt I gained nothing. This person also gave me a copy of "Spirited Away" under the same recommendation, but I've seen a few people in this thread saying positive things so I guess I'll give it a try.

They also gave me "Grave of the Fireflies". Anybody seen it? Have an opinion?

One of my favourite films... but I am unsure if I will watch it again for a long time. Crying that much must cause some crazy dehydration.

Fate/Zero still numero uno. If you like anime and haven't seen it... Do you even lift, mongrel? If you like fantasy and RPG's, you're gonna' love it.
