Athiesm is a Faith?
RE: Athiesm is a Faith?
Beats the shit out of fucking jesus...especially with my home made sauce and some Romano cheese and a bottle of chianti.

Besides, the FSM is eternal and self-regenerating.

The first theist likely had little conception of the sort of God you're referring to. He or she would (most likely, given what of the history of religion can be discerned) have been an animist, believing that rocks and trees and the wind and so forth had personalities. There's an excellent book by Pascal Boyer that goes into some detail on what would likely have been in play in the head of the first theist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_Explained

now should i read it first and then consider burden of proof or should I only go as far as the first sentence that makes an assumption and ask for burden of proof before continuing ? ( joking )
but in reality who can know what was in the first theist head.

Probably from the idea that theres something big out there that can shake the earth, make your family members drop dead or strart having a fit on the floor for unexplained reasons. unexplained lights in the sky. Not being able to explain where life comes from aswell.
If your friends and family were mostly dropping down dead at around the age of 30 or 40 and your life depended on crops growing and you had no scientific knowledge whatsoever i think you would pray to whatever you could and give sacrifices if you thought it would help, so would i.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

If you don't want the conversation, you can leave it, if I don't want to prove something then I don't have to prove it so long as I don't ask you to prove it all seems fine in my mind.

It's not my job to deal with your ignorance. If you refuse to back up your claim, then none of your points mean anything. It would be the same as if we were seriously talking about how many elves are in Santa's workshop without any proof as to Santa's existence. If I call you on Santa's existence and you pull this stupid shit, the discussion is over. You're no longer being intellectually honest. This isn't that hard to understand and I don't get why you won't just accept the burden as your own. It's yours. Whether you want it or not is irrelevant. Welcome to debate.
