When I had a job at my college's theatre department, I knew a girl who liked going to titty bars, frequently flirted with girls, even fell for the one other girl who didn't just say "No!" to her, but, for whatever reason, insisted that she was just a straight girl who just happened to like getting intimate with other girls.

Plastic surgery and chemical changes upon a body ≠ changing someone's root DNA, and equipping them will full reproductive capabilities representative of their new sex.

That's not accurate on two counts.

1. "reproductive capabilities" is not a requirement to be male or female - ie you can be born "barren", unable to conceive a child as a man or a woman.

It's true, but I have seen it argued before that unless a transgendered person can reproduce as desired after surgery: they will not consider them as their proper gender.

It's bigoted, it's stupid, it is definitely inaccurate, but I've seen it argued. By my parents, no less... sigh. However, it does remain true that we cannot yet change the DNA of a person in this manner (which would be to change that XX to XY, or XY to XX), and despite the lack of major physical changes associated with changing sex... it remains the only way to do it.

If it were possible today, and free, I'm not even sure I'd go for it. Because that's very dangerous.

2. DNA is not what defines gender. Yes, the body uses DNA to decide upon which gender it is, but DNA doesn't matter. We can recognize people who are intersex, even though they are still biologically male or female. In some animals it is possible to be truly an hermaphrodite, despite the fact that DNA should give you a more limitative answer. DNA/Biological gender can be mismatched.

DNA doesn't decide your gender, chemicals of your mothers manage that while you're developing. If estrogen starts slowing in her system after the baby begins forming as a girl... the child has a chance of being a transman. If estrogen skyrockets while a baby boy is forming... the child has a chance of being a transwoman. Not causation, but it does correlate.

But DNA *is* what defines sex. And so, no... that isn't inaccurate Sex and gender may correlate, but you can be a man in a woman's body, a woman in a man's body, or anything in between. It is definitely true that sex and gender can be mismatched.

I am willing to address a person as to what they want to be address as as far as their sexuality, but I thought there was a difference between partial and full. Some don't want to go all the way with surgery and others do.

Their genitalia has no bearing upon their gender.

I do in any case understand that sexuality is a range so every individual is going to be different.

Sexuality and gender are unrelated.

But just looked up that name and yea, whatever doctors help her end up looking that way, earned their pay.

She's probably XXY. Some of the 'most beautiful transsexuals' seem to be. Got a friend who is, she is a fucking goddess by standards of pretty women. Such a shame she's completely straight

Look up "Gender Dysphoria" or "Gender Identity Disorder".

You can't just go to a doctor and say "I want a sex change operation". It doesn't work that way.
