Mental Illness and the Psych Ward

RE: Mental Illness and the Psych Ward
Quote:And yeah, I do not know why America is a breeding ground for mental illness

I only have info based from documentrys ive seen, but from what seems to be big issues in america id say it develops possibly from diet,
but i think its mainly cultural that a lot of the people who are labelled mentally ill arent mentally ill.
Teenagers seem to be proud of their mental illnesses, specifically bi polar, and ADD.
The people who specialise in diagnosing these things create a need for their own specialisation the more people they diagnose people with mental illness. Like a pied piper but the rodents are imaginary.
Especially with ADD unless it is very extreme and the person is just constantly in a boiling rage i dont see ADD as being a problem in teenagers.
Like i said i got told i might have ADD in high school but looking back i was a teenager just reaching sexual maturity, all my primal instrincts are geared towards fighting, fucking and generally causing trouble at that stage in life, and people think its a mental disorder that you cant sit in a dull class room and work on maths problems without being easily distracted. Not that im against education, im just saying having difficulty paying attention unless very very extreme isnt a mental illness in my opinion and i think it gets branded onto too many people.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Germans -- Well it's your life, but it is interesting to see people's responses to problems. However, you could also keep secrets to the grave. Talking about shit at first is mad hard though. Hope you can work through whatever it is you need to.

And Paulo, America has a mixed of under and over diagnosis because of how poorly we manage mental illness. Diet, environment, genetics, anything could play a role. And I dunno, if people cry over their mental illness is that really more preferable? Granted that is a jump to an extreme, somewhere in between then-- is that where you want people to be?

If people cause trouble in a class room then one way to stop this is by drugging them to calm them down, if people want to do that then its not my problem right now. Im not a teacher or a pupil in a school nor do i have children yet. ADD seems like an excuse to drug children into calming down, when i was in school i remember there were loads of annoying hyperactive kids and it would have made my school life way better if they had been drugged into calmness, but i dont think they had ADD i think they were just dickheads, eventually you have to learn to deal with some of those types of people sometimes.

It all depends-- I know people who would have been happier in school and in life with medication for ADD before college when they realized how out of control their focus and attention are, as well as people who were not ADD at all who took meds at a young age. And people who were medicated right from the beginning. Not everyone has ADD, true, but thats not the only mental illness that exists. And yeah, some kids who act up are not mentally ill at all. Some kids who are well-behaved are. Some arent. Kids who act however could be whatever. It varies.

It might be a good idea just to give all children medication before they enter the classroom
