I'm running Firefox myself and I've had something similar on and off for the last couple of days. I thought maybe it was something to do with my having to use my Mum's laptop while the pc is in drydock for repair, or perhaps Youtube being a bit glitchy.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I'm using palemoon, which is an optimized version of Firefox. I did notice some peculiarities in a post of TaraJo's, but more importantly, within the past week, a new version of flash player was released or something, requiring me to update the flash player, and resulting in all sorts of weird incompatibilities until I did so (including DP's newest apologetics video not displaying at all in his post). Perhaps this is the source, and Youtube and/or Adobe are fronting incompatible versions of flash plugin which Chrome has yet to update.

Yeah, chrome is screwing up with youtube a lot. When I go to youtube and watch videos there, I can't always change the volume from youtube. This gets annoying when one video is really quiet and the next one is really loud.
Now I start trying to think of a different web browser that won't screw up like that.......

I just noticed something else which may be relevant. Depending on the context, the Youtube url that you copy may be https, secure http, rather than plain old http; the forum software does not recognize an https Youtube url and automagically convert it. Just remove the trailing 's' on such urls and it should work fine.

I should really fix that issue already.
Edit: Ok, that should be fixed. YouTube videos should be posted whether you use HTTPS or not.
