RE: Atheism = Genocide, to this writer.
Quote:Hitler is a special case in that he is a right wing rather than a left wing killer. What this means in practice is that Hitler pandered to Christianity in his early rise to power, then took over the churches once he got in power.

BOLLOCKS!!!!

As a german I must correct this.
Fashism and the catholic church have a deeply conected history which is not one sided. But troughout the entire phase of fashist regimes in Europe, fashist regimes never took over the church as an organisation.
All one can say is that there where catholics which supported fashism and that there were catholics which protested fashism.

Yet, what catholics cannot deny is that they didnt do enought! And that they actualy to some extent have to take responsibility.
The catholic church was an officialy anti semetic organisation until the 1960s it was them who continualy spread the antisemetic myth that "Jesus was killed by jews" which is pritty much the origin of all antisemitism within the christian world. They have thereby supported the rise of antisemitism which especialy in catholic Europe gave rise to fashism, and yes: it was in catholic Europe where most fashist regimes came to rise.

The catholic church may have done some good deads individualy like hiding jews in the papal palace and through several individuals who refused military service.

But this is not an excuse for the catholic churchs intemate releationship with leading fashists and for the fact that they actualy supported the rise of regimes in such deeply catholic countries like Spain and Croatia.

All in all, it also has to be said that "atheism" was throwned upon in the thrid reich because it was seen as something communist.
An Individual was more likely to end up in a gaschamber for being an atheist than for being a catholic.
But this would also ignore one essential and importent point!!!

It was not christians who were targeted!

It were the jews, the roma, the slavic people and the political left.

By claiming victimhood for ones faith or convictions held, in this historical crime one is practicaly spitting on the graves of those who were in fact murdered.

Which is repulsive!!!!!!!!!!
