Ignore List Etiquette
When you put someone on you ignore list is it polite to let them know with a PM?

I don't think it's necessary. They won't be able to respond.

What I mean is even though you don't want to read someone's posts, for whatever reason, should you give them a head's up so they don't waste time responding to your comments.

Yes, I see where you're coming from. I don't think there is any established etiquette.

It does sort of seem sporting, doesn't it? Or you can inform them on the thread which inspires the deed. Public castigation lets the people following the thread know too why you aren't responding to them even if they try to continue annoying you.

Can I still see their posts/threads? Or can the just not see mine? I'm slightly paranoid that there is an army of people who have me on ignore now.

RE: Ignore List Etiquette
Why should I inform them. The very fact that I want to ignore them speaks volumes about what I think of them.

Now it comes to me,..........

I did inform every one on my ignore list that I was goint to put them there.

Not with a pm but with a rather condacending post.

Yes. You can see theirs, they will not see yours unless someone quotes you.

Paranoia, eh? Tinfoil - shiny side out. Big Grin
