The Absolute Truth

You have this sort of wholesome pleasure inside you where you feel like you have tasted the spirit of the world around and not some sort of hedonistic perversion of it.

Christianity is like eating very very healthy food that tastes good, like a nectarine.

Ah, no wonder I deconverted. I hate nectarines.

By your Holy Objective Standards, are mangos then the Devil's fruit, because they are so so delicious, and considering I'm the deluded one from your perspective?

To live believing there is a greater pleasure than holiness is the devils fruit.

But, objectively speaking, what fruit??

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The fruit of selfishness and pride and self will and empty hedonistic triviality.

As opposed to self neglect, shame, capitulation and repression? Some trees bear fruit which is only edible to those who have nothing else to eat. Yours is such a tree.

RE: The Absolute Truth
Christianity does not teach those vices. The Christian life is suffering the pain of exposing the self to the Holy Light till all lies have been cast out and the glory of God remains to give sight.

It is not repressive to demand the body to obey the soul, it is repressive to let the body command the soul.

You are the one who is repressed, repressed by your carnal lifestyle, unaware of the pleasures that lie in seeing the natural state in the light of the teleological order - a slave not to my body but to the truth.

I would rather be a slave to the truth than a slave to video games.

RE: The Absolute Truth
Oh it absolutely does, prove me wrong?

Care to explain how holy light sets off pain receptors? At what point will this holy light start casting out some lies, and how will this be accomplished? I already possess sight, I'm not sure why it would need to be granted.

(save yourself the time and trouble of responding to me in platitudes. That post was trash, absolute gibberish, it meant nothing, you may as well have just grunted)

RE: The Absolute Truth
You learn and you realize that your body is deceptive and your soul and your spirit become unified around distaste for your carnality and selfishness.

You are blind if you think that you are free when you are a slave to your body.

I don't know what you mean by pain receptors.

Thomas Merton said of his Trappist Monestary - "The four walls of my new freedom". I can relate. I would never go back to my old lifestyle, solely out of hedonistic considerations.

Christians are not repressed. What are falsely called hedonists, they are the repressed people.

RE: The Absolute Truth
You learn what and from where, and how are you to determine that what you have learned is accurate? Yet another trash post, yet another platitude - predictably about souls and other nonsense. I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible to construct a sentence about souls and other curia without running the risk of platitude.

Who said I was free, certainly not I, so I guess your objection (what were you objecting to with that anyway) falls on deaf ears.

You don't know what you mean by
"The Christian life is suffering the pain of exposing the self to the Holy Light till all lies have been cast out and the glory of God remains to give sight."
either, and that's exactly the problem, and precisely why it is a platitudinous statement. Completely and utterly empty and void of meaning.
