Okay, so why would these people think there were enough Muslims in Tennessee's capitol to justify such an addition? And, remembering from Lawless that some versions of Christianity that actually encourage ritual foot-washing, I'm actually surprised that they wouldn't have approved. And I'm sure that if any Muslim tried to wash his feet in there, he'd consider that sink unclean. And besides, if it were really meant for wudu (Muslim ritual washing), you'd think that they'd find some way to make it easier to wash your elbows, because doing it in the sink just feels awkward.

Muslims only wash their feet in the mosque.
If the state capitol would turn into a mosque that would indeed be troubling - but it is impossible since due to the seperation of religion and state.
I think this says alot about the representative who probably knows nothing about that seperation or ignores it, so an assertion like this one is only possible for such a mind.

There have been determined efforts to display the ten commandments in government buildings. I believe that there were one or two where it was done, which led to a fight to get it removed. The right-wing in the USA would like nothing more than to get their church into our state. The Constitution makes it difficult, but I am wary of considering it impossible.
