God Loves Me, Too

But let's say this is a couple who bonded over golfing... They met at a golf tournament. Pre-kids they both had a major passion for the sport, went golfing together several times a week. Got engaged on a beautiful trip to <insert fancy schmancy golf course here>. And post-kids the partner who gave up golfing isn't making a big effort to find something else to bond with their spouse over.
I've recently been witness to several empty-nester divorces, not in relation to golfing, but once the kids left home, the couples faced spending the rest of their lives with a person they had grown apart from.

Not if you don't eventually become a believer, as you have claimed non-believers eventually lose their conscience, which I assume your failure to cite corroborating evidence for means you have none

Okay fine. The evidence is AF. Many people have given their deconversion stories. Some Christians have given their testimonials of personal change, myself included. People change.

But that doesn't show that non-belief leads to a loss in conscience, does it?

Post-kids they can take up golfing again.

Yeah, that happens. Not sure what it's got to do with this thread.

I like where this topic is going with all the anecdotes and "what ifs." So guys, guys... what about the one where the wife loves golf but the husband wants to do her in the back using anal beads made from a string of golf balls... what would that do to their balance? I know that it might do a real number on her balance if she lets him do it, LOLOLOL!!! But I mean like metaphysically?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Because if you put your spousal relationship on the back burner for 20 years while you're raising kids, you can wake up one day next to someone you aren't so compatible with anymore. People do grow and change over time and couples don't always grow together, sometimes they grow apart. People grow and change sexually as well.
In keeping with the sexiness of the thread: I know many couples that have had sexual incompatibility issues post-kids. It's difficult to switch from mommy or daddy mode, to sexy-time mode. A woman's hormone changes post-kids can change her libido. A man can find a post-baby body unappealing. Amongst other things. If left unresolved, these sexual issues can ruin a marriage.

You're right. It's my opinion, I gained by theological studies. I also opine that the nastiness of some AF participants would be moderated by religious faith.

I cannot agree with that statement at all. Because a) the internet has a way of bringing forth the worst part in people and b) nastiness has nothing to do with (a lack of) faith.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
