An antitheist is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as "One opposed to belief in the existence of a god." The earliest citation given for this meaning is from 1833. An antitheist may be opposed to belief in the existence of any god or gods, and not merely one in particular.

The definition notes that it is against the belief, and this usually manifests in the form of being aggressive against theists. This is subtly different from having an active disbelief. It is hardly impossible to be an agnostic anti-theist.

I wouldn't sweat it. I for one, do not have time to scrutinize every single post on every single topic. I think they are pretty accepting here. Although I did get a scary picture posted at me for "necroposting" not long ago. lol

There is a very helpful red notice banner above the reply areas when the thread is dead ( > 30 days ). Although its no reason to 'sweat it' we encourage members to consider making a new thread instead of resurecting an old one. The reason is quite simple: Many of the original thread responders may not be present at the forum anymore (people come and go from forums all the time).

I still consider myself an Anti-theist. As I am opposed to a belief in god/gods of any kind.

Either way, I choose to define my beliefs according to my on definitions. The rest is just arguing semantics IMHO. I am an Anti-Theist because I actively believe that there are no gods. No fence sitting here.
