JROTC
So the first year I was in it I about half way into the year I just said screw I am going to call them out on the creed for the last line "May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed." I went back and fourth with the person in charge of all of this up at the school board. After a while I talked to the principal and both of them said the same thing, that being the practicably have NO CONTROL over anything of JROTC. Well hmmmmm.....it is in a PUBLIC SCHOOL.

Second part is that they will have recruiters come into the class room (while the "instructors" sit in their offices) and just fill you head with just tons and tons of shit. The big wigs lately have been the Marines at OHS. These two knuckle heads come in and directly target the seniors. That just pisses me off, just wanted to stand up and tell him a word or two about how the people in any branch get treated like shit. None of it is as they put it. My uncle was in the Marines for two or four years, his "amazing job," was just taking the "top secret," videos and putting them on different spools.

Last thing has nothing to do with politics, unless you look at if from a special view. I have been in there for two years, now they have all these 16 and 18 year olds up in "higher (shit) ranks," and they just treat you like shit (most of them). They will threaten you with push ups (I am fat people, what stops me from walking away across the bridge with my middle finger up), and just about anything to make you follow. Yet the two instructors are in their offices. Last but not least they will have two young kids be "road guards," so that the rest of the "company," does not get ran over. That is just bullshit, in dangering a person's life.

Any thoughts on this? Confusedhock:

I completely agree. Its total BS. I said 'May the Flying Spaghetti Monster' instead of god, and they got super pissed. So did my parents, because they're christian. So I came back with a few rules I found that said the Army cant discriminate because of religion and now half my class hates me and the other half are secret atheists too and love me. It was actually kind of fun getting them all riled up....Devil

Of course christianity is given a special triple AAA status from the military.

If you join, you should fully expect to be bottom of the rung, being passed over for promotions if you choose to be open about not being a religious type.
