As US Drone Strikes Rise in Yemen, So Does Anger

RE: As US Drone Strikes Rise in Yemen, So Does Anger
Again, what the news reports and what is actually happening is different.

How we track, identify, and locate people is movie like. The intelligence is usually spot on.

The HBO special Manhunt has a decent depiction of an Analyst.

This will be my last post about this topic. I rather not give out any information about what I do and do not know.

I do not get my information from the TV. I do work for the DoD, and I have a fairly high security clearance with proper read on. But, again I do not have anything to prove to you. I am not going to argue with you. If you want to believe I watch TV, I cant stop you. I have been deployed over 5 years in the Middle East and Africa. Mock me all you want.

I do not want to give away TTP to anyone. I am entrusted, so I will protect the information.

OK, so now the Commander in Chief has admitted what the whole world knew anyway.

http://apnews.excite.com/article/2013052...A7R80.html

Quote:he president cast the drone program as crucial in a counterterror effort that will rely less on the widespread deployment of U.S. troops as the war in Afghanistan winds down. But he acknowledged the targeted strikes are no "cure-all" and said he is deeply troubled by the civilians unintentionally killed.

"For me, and those in my chain of command, these deaths will haunt us as long as we live," he said. Before any strike, he said, "there must be near-certainty that no civilians will be killed or injured - the highest standard we can set."

In Pakistan alone, up to 3,336 people have been killed by the unmanned aircraft since 2003, according to the New America Foundation which maintains a database of the strikes. However, the secrecy surrounding the drone program makes it impossible for the public to know for sure how many people have been killed in in strikes, and of those, how many were intended targets.

he's always admitted it............ in fact he thinks he's better than G.W.B. for using drones rather than troops..... but if pakistan has seen more casualaties (that we know of) than 9/11 through drones than how are we not at war with pakistan???????????????????????

yemen, somalia, honduras, and all the other countries that drones monitor and bomb that as american we don't even know/vote about....

after all the civilians deaths.............................

were still confused.......... as too whether or not we should................ even have a court decide on................. which country we decide too bomb with drones http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/DC-Decoder/...idea-video

... I guarantee germany or japan isn't one of those countries

RE: As US Drone Strikes Rise in Yemen, So Does Anger
First of all I should say that the drone is not what bothers me in all of this. Truthfully, it is not so different from manned aircraft. A piloted F-18 is still going to shoot a missile from miles away and the pilot does not see his target. Gone are the days when Hollywood depicted Japanese or German pilots ( only ) as laughing while they strafed columns of refugees from 50 feet in the air.

What's wrong here is the intelligence used to pick targets. We are, in many cases, being used by local factions to attack their own opponents.
And of course we have no fucking idea who else is in the houses we decide to blow up. That goes without saying. Its an idea we borrowed from the Israelis and they are, of course, known for their humanitarianism.
