Steam on Linux/Optimus on Linux

I'm not a fan of TF/CSS/L4D.

I've really enjoyed HL2 and mods. I'm currently investigating if there is a way to create a Source DLL to Linux SO shim, like Mplayer and ADOM Sage did for Linux, Windows.

I'd rather play Black Mesa on Linux than Windows.

According to random-ascii, Linux is faster performing than Windows in several areas.

Yea that's for sure Linux is way more stable and faster than windowz
What are your views on gnome 3.8 Moros?
Also have you heard of play on linux software that think will run almost everything on your linux machine (including viruses so do be careful)

I used clamav but when i scanned my windowz partition it fucked up the whole system,so I needed to re-install it.

I have an allergy to gnome. I'm really a KDE fan at heart, but I'm not interested in downloading several hundred megs right now when everything seemingly works.

I make use of vanilla wine (though I use the wine PPAs, the xserver-dev PPAs). I can't really use the Windows Steam on Linux due to my shared 4th partition (that I put all my personal data on) being NTFS and Windows Steam having a notorious NTFS corruption bug when run via wine...

Native Steam, however, was more than happy to use my Windows Steam app directory.

POL is just curated Wine in self contained flasks. From the issues I get with Starcraft 2 in the sound warbling, I suspect it's not something solvable with native DLLs or a regedit tweak.

I guess that's why I have to keep Windows - for the games.

Yea me to I only need windowz for games. Also did you heard (of course you have) about cinnamon desktop that think is pretty cool,it's an fork of gnome 3 it super stylish. And you also have MATE it's an fork of gnome 2.X.X if you like more old school looking desktop.
