If you believe in the God of the Bible, why try to prove it logically?
RE: If you believe in the God of the Bible, why try to prove it logically?
Ugh Americans! The guy has so many failed prophesies... kinda condemns him. And I certainly believe what he says is contrary to Christianity, and is evil.

But that piece of shit says he's a Christian and makes Christian noises in between the bile. I'd still want to think of him as the devil incarnate rather than a brother in Christ.

But yeah, there you go.

And he will say that you're not a true Christian because you don't interpret the bible the same way as him.

So why should we believe you over him?

Yes, our evidence is called "the words in it." You say that homophobia is not christian: The fucking bible disagrees.

Now stop being an obtuse, evasive dick and actually provide something of merit.

Have you written anything over three sentences in the last few pages?

Have any of those sentences been worth the time it took to read them?

2nd Corinthians 11:3-4,
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”

The Law Stands according to Jesus

“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:18-19

“It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid.” (Luke 16:17)

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.” (Matthew 5:17)

“Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law” (John7:19)
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Jesus interpreted the law correctly, not as it was misinterpreted previously.

I think that such a claim would meet softer ears in the latter bits - as many would agree that other faiths (including the faith of origin for your own) "got it wrong". The bit that's gonna need more ass behind it is the first bit.

More generally,
IIRC, the character of jesus doesn't explicitly condone homosexuality - beyond a reference to all the other laws persisting.......but why do we assume that the author of the jesus narrative was even aware of -all- the laws...btw? Perhaps he was personally okay with teh gays and had simply never encountered the passage in question? In that context it's not so much a revision as an omission of ignorance/cultural mores.

This is purely speculative, of course. Mostly just pondering the narrative for what it is and tallying up a list of things that this would explain handily. Of course, it is just one possibility for why we might end up with a disconnect between two books in the same series of fanfic. I think it's more plausible as an explanation than an invocation of some god...god man..or godly laws and their correct interpretation, personally.

Are you turning into a literal fundementalist? Why should I accept your interpretation???

John 7:22-24
New International Version (NIV)

22 Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs), you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath. 23 Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath? 24 Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”

I think it's pretty obvious for anyone with a basic understanding of English.
Moses' law is NOT God's law... Undecided

This proves the Bible is not reliable, for the scribes writing it down have tampered with the original words.

Or it was bullshit to begin with, so it wouldn't matter if the scriptures now said that Adam lived to be a centaur and Noah was the world's first astronaut.
