I got fat

Germans:

putting in earbuds tunes out just about any kind of person. We have all sorts of fuckers who visit the gyms here, and they will harass women because they're fuck heads, but with earbuds on you pretty much have license to ignore all of them, and they feel pretty stupid trying to talk to someone who probably can't hear them. So go for your run. That's what I'm doing now on the "Zombies Run" app, which trains you for a 5k.

One word of advice though - get better shoes before you do it. I hurt my knees again doing that.

Rhythm also linked me to the army's website which you could easily find, which lists some basic exercises that he swears by that are easy to do in-home.

Go swimming if you also like. I wish I had access to a pool and could do that. I'm trying to work that out with a friend, actually. It's a good all-over body exercise.

Re: RE: I got fat
I've put on a disgusting amound of weight in the last few years. Partly from PCOS, but mostly from eating too much. Apart from the weight, I'm otherwise pretty fit. I walk a lot, I can still run up the stairs to my my flat on the 5th floor of my building without too much trouble.

If you're looking to lose a few kg I really recommend http://www.myfitnesspal.com
There's an app for it, too. You can track what you eat vs what you burn and as long as you stick to it, it's pretty accurate at telling you what you'll lose in x amount of time.

I lost a fuckload of weight playing those games on my PSone. Lol

I had this insane Disney Mix one. I still have it actually... I should get it out and use it again. Lol

After opening this thread, I cooked me a giant bunch of sausages with really fatty curry beand and some crisp bread with butter. And then went to play Skyrim.

So I really shouldn`t be complaining. Tongue

150lbs. Underweight.

And still, despite the volume I eat and the stress I am under, I can't seem to gain any. :/

I've put on a lot of weight in the past year and exercise isn't burning it off. I'm not actually eating a whole lot, so I dunno what's going on with that. My mom thinks this happened because I went off my adderall.

Before, during and after my crash in October, I have gained a lot of weight. All my adult life I've been on the plump side, but I have always had good stamina and like to work out, especially doing Zumba and other aerobic stuff in groups at the gym. But 8 months of inactivity I can't walk the stairs at home (three floors) without breathing heavily when I reach my front door Undecided

High five for biking!
I have a nice 7.5 km to work, so I decided to buy a bike this summer in order to start moving again. I love it! I'm now quick enough to reach my destination faster than going by bus.

I have also started to have a lot of salad ingredients at work, so that I can fix myself a yummy and healthy lunch everyday, instead of buying expensive fast food. I don't know if I've lost any weight, but at least I feel a lot better than I have in months, so that's always something.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I used to be the same when I first started, I used to be very body conscious as well, especially with all the macho pricks in the 'bodybuilder' section doing their shit looking down at everyone else. But after a while of going you learn to just ignore everyone and do your own thing. The other guys are right, sticking in an ipod and zoning out is pretty fucking awesome for that. Honestly, joining the gym was the best thing I've done in a loooong time. In fact sometimes going to the gym is one of the ways you get to zone out and spend 'me time'. I just sit on the bike for 20 mins listening to tunes and boom, 200 calories gone, that's like, nearly enough for the chocolate bar I ate 5 minutes before going the gym Big Grin

Even better than music is putting on an hour of TED Talks on your smartphone whilst sweating away on the cross trainer. With music you can involuntarily make eye contact with someone you don't like, keeping your eyes on the screen helps with that. Nothing wrong with working out your muscles and brain at the same time.
