Um...the article says he faces house arrest. He won't be doing much rotting that way.

I didn`t read it. I just heard on the radio that the sentence was confirmed.
No word of house arrest there.

Woah woah woah wait dudes it was a trial for his TV networks, it was not Rubygate... the sentence was partly confirmed (4 years jail, which becomes house arrest due to his old age) but the hardest part of it (interdiction from public charges) is yet to be confirmed.
