Screwing people over has always been the bread and butter of our economic system. It is why the U.S. brought slaves here. Even Benjamin Franklin had to escape to another state to escape an indentured apprenticeship. You would think that the cause of freedom in this country would mean more than what it does here. But it is only a word. I think part of the problem is that people see how bad things are in other countries. Then think to themselves, "At least it isn't that bad here."
