Oh, This Will Help!

RE: Oh, This Will Help!
Since when has a Christian fasting ever been considered an act of protest? He thinks his fasting will aid the words of his prayer, which is a plea for divine intervention.

Is it really a matter of whether you view it as a protest or not?
He said he's doing this in reaction to the recent events in Syria.
IF you do something in reaction to something with the intent of expressing your disapproval, I guess its and act of protest.
Gandhi did also used fasting as a form of protest, and he was a devout hindu.
I don't know why you deny the same thing to the Christians.

Just one day? What the fuck do the Vatican think that will achieve? A hunger strike might make a better point; but a day of fasting? That's just silly.

Well, a hunger strike works if your lives are actually have a meaning to those who you are protesting, though I'm sure that the Syrians put no real value on the Pope, or on any Christian for that matter.
Again, lets say, a series of protests conducted in the traditional manner of going out on the streets and spouting slogans will archieve nothing.
So the Vatican and the Pope are doing nothing more than an act of good-will.
What I do't understand is why you're so worked up about it.

The only thing that matters here are guns.
A military strike would make a difference, though do you approve of it?
