Just finished A quick call with some rando trying to sell me fire insurance. Even though I explained that we already have fire insurance AND the house is paid for, he kept pushing. So…
‘Ok, basically, you’re willing to bet little bit of MY money against a whole lot of YOUR money that I WON’T burn my house down?’
He hung up.

Why have insurance if you're not going to do everything you can to use it?

Watching baseball. I watched about half of Oppenheimer before I realized it was 3 hours long. I'll finish it some other night.

Micro Center is offering me $167 for the graphics card I paid $500 for two years ago. For another $250 I could get the card that I had planned to upgrade to back then.

Went for my first exerciser walk of the year today. I've been using the weather as an excuse not to go since some time in early November, so I planned on an easy 3 mile round trip over about an hour. So, I drove down to one of the trail entrances to the Little Dry Creek green space, one of my favorite places to walk in the metro area (pics to come). Had a couple scrips to pick up, and it's almost exactly 1.5 miles from my starting point to the pharmacy we use. Got moving, fast enough to get my heart rate up, but not pushing hard. The first leg, I averaged 4:13 per mile. At the end of the second leg, I was still averaging 4:21 per mile, and I was no where near as blown out as I expected so I kept on for another mile. I finished 4 miles in just 57:41!
The distance between the green dot (starting point) and the red one (end point) was almost exactly 1 mile, making for a great cool down walk back to the car. Despite sitting on my lazy ass all winter long, letting my weight creep back up over 190 again, (except the survey trips I've been on which are not strenuous at all) I'm still in pretty good shape. I'm gonna set a goal of a 5 mile hour by September. I also spotted a 3.5 mile branch of the trail leading to Standly Lake. That's gonna be a weekend excercise walk soon.

My boss goes rambling around the woods a few times a year and often for weeks at a time. She recently returned from a hike that started in Alabama and went up to somewhere on the Appalachian Trail. She was gone nearly a month. She has done a Great Lakes hike, one out in CA and UT, a couple in CO, and NM seems to be a favorite of hers. When I started there four years ago, her adventures were shorter in duration but I have been taking work items off of her and helped allow her to wander for weeks at a time.
I have never seen the appeal but she loves it and she has brought me back a cool T-shirt from one trip and fabric I made a quilt out of when she wandered through Minnesota and up to the great lakes.

Currently doing my second reapplication for disability. It’s actually going well so far.
Edit: they actually finished the application. I’ve been trying for months just to get the application in and now they did it.

Just got back from Wally World. Picked up a box of half-caff medium roast K-cup pods. I'll compare it to Aldi's decaf.
