The feds have a massive debt, and have failed with the payments on healthcare leaving the provinces to take up the slack, which the smaller Atlantic provinces cannot afford do to declining populations that were small to begin with. We do not have tax breaks like Americans , and the ones do have are to keep companies from hightailing it too china or the Philippines. My job is only here because of government subsidies to large corporations.
Not to mention we pay 15% sales tax and I linked the income tax here.

And we chronic staff shortages in hospitals too.

That wasn't a failing of the government; your massive debt is because your country got hit by an 8+% unemployment rate when the global recession hit, and you just stated the reason for the debt; your job is only there because of government tax subsidies for the companies there.

It has nothing to do with the government there. You guys have the life there, in fact, so quit whining about big government when this shit is what you've got going for YOU:

And what WE have got going for us with our smaller government:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internation...ted_States

Our quality of life index is 7.615. Yours? 7.599. Oh by the way, that rating also factored in geographical and climate factors. Canada scored low, due to the long winters, large expanses of land that are undeveloped due to inhospitable conditions, and, while Canada has plenty of farmland, it doesn't have as much as the US does. So, something tells me that, remove climate and geography from the mix and just focus on the political stuff? Something tells me you guys are doing better than us. There's also the factors of economy, and given yours is smaller, Canada would score lower because of it...but again, that's not something the government can directly impact, unlike education and healthcare. You guys were doing just fine prior to the recession. Now you're in a recession and look there, your government is in a deficit while it tries to cover everyone to keep you guys' shit together. Guess what? SAME HERE. BUT WE STILL HAVE SHIT EDUCATION. Our nation's future is bleak because we aren't investing in it anymore, because we're too busy getting fucked over by people with tons of money, and instead of trying to curb that kind of corporatocracy that's creeping into our lives, we're talking about removing what leashes we have over it! The fuck kind of sense does THAT make?

Rich people are not generous. And if you render the government impotent against their power, you effectively are inviting them to fuck you over even more.
