The simple truth

RE: The simple truth
Thanks for your replies. Nothing that I didn't expect to hear.

'For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.' (1 Cor 1:18-21)

May God bless you to believe His gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit

You might want to acquaint yourself with our rules, particularly #1.

This isn't a soapbox for you to preach from.

Paul sure knew how to deliver a backhanded compliment to his followers, I'll give him that.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Seriously. You're quoting the bible at people who don't believe the bible is more than the 5000 year old equivalent of rush limbaugh.

A For effort. F for judgement.

Well I'm not someone who trusts in the wisdom of men. I only trust in the power of God.

"And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God." (1 Cor 2:1-5)

So why did you post? Thinking

You knew we would reject your doctrine and yet appealed to it anyway knowing it would be brushed off.

What an utter waste of your time.

I knew that most would reject it. Though if one were to go away and only think about it I would consider my goal a success. And even if they don't, the gospel is still a success.

No, atheism just means we don't believe in god.
It is science that says we share a common ancestor with monkeys.

According to 'atheism', we're all descended from primates. Some of us have evolved into homo sapiens, others into lesser primates such as gorillas, bonobos and Christians.
