Just as tautological.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I have a question to you guys. Do any of you have any evidence involving the origin of the Bible, and that it was man-made?

Yes. There are far too many errors and contradictions in it to have been written by a perfect being.

The books of the bible, in particular, but not exclusive to, Noah's Ark, deal only with events, places and creatures that were found in the region of the ancient Middle East. No mention at all about other civilizations, animals, locations, etc, that an all-knowing being who had created the world would have known.

Yes, you're right. And any reincarnated son of a god worthy of the description ought to be able to satisfy that burden of proof. What are we to conclude from the absence of such proof?

On a related note, here is a list of people who claim or claimed to be your JC. Would you have asked them for proof, or merely took them at their word?

LOL. The fact that you see this as a bad thing speaks of the miles between you and me. Anyone making that fantastic a claim better have some serious evidence. Seriously, if someone came up to you tomorrow in the supermarket and claimed to be the son of god returned, you wouldn't require some proof? Maybe some ID, a minor miracle, something to prove he's not one of the 100 nutjobs that claim to be christ returned every day?

And as far as evidence that the Bible is man-made, how about the thousands of historical inaccuracies, contradictions within itself, or a complete lack of archaeological/historical evidence for the supposedly greatly important events within?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Would you trust this guy without proof?

Or this guy?

Or this one?

If you answered no to any of them, you're looking for proof as well.

Examine not only WHAT you believe, but WHY.

However what atheists neglect is the spiritual realm. There is so much visible power in the relationship believers have with God. It cannot be explained through reason, but only through a personal relationship with Jesus.

How is all your hand-waving any different from gullibility?

Quote:Study the word without skepticism, ask Jesus to guide you, meditate on Gods's goodness, and ask about spiritual experience from those who have experienced it themselves.

So, what you are asking us to do, is make ourselves so gullible, that we'll believe all sorts of ridiculous crap.

I'll pass...

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

The Noah's ark story may be concerned with just a small area in the Middle East, around eastern Turkey, but the Bible characters were knowledgeable about the lands from Spain to Ethiopia and southern Europe to India. That's a very vast area.

The fact that people speak with fervent sincerity of their beliefs adds zero credibility to those beliefs.

Not to get too repetitive, almost 70% of the world's population speak just as fervently and sincerely about their beliefs. Yet, you have no problems not believing them. And the sad part is, you seem to disregard their beliefs for most of the right reasons, but you make all these special cases for just your beliefs.
