This is getting old

RE: This is getting old
Damn. I thought you were tired of us and were 'leaving' again.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

It's not necessarily limited to theology. Many people are happy to wallow in confirmation bias.

You're describing a *human* failing, not a just a theological one.

Yes. Must I highlight the implied obverse? Atheists have no sight for 'spirit & soul'... though they also exist Wink Shades

It's just a different set of glasses. Unlike theists firmly entrenched in their doctrines, and atheists firmly assured of their science, I have no dogma that says I can't wear both sets of lenses.

If I thought for one second that words could explain spirit, then I would take a stab at answering your question. But since my words will only confuse those who worship the reasoning in them (atheists) more, I shall not attempt to persuade you (which is not my function). Persuasion seems to be your god.

Very good cop out. Why do you use words to call something you can't express with words?

Why use any words? To attempt to explain spiritual matters in a way that un-spiritual beings can comprehend would be like describing the color red to a blind man - it's just a concept to the blind man, and he'll never see the color red for himself until his eyes are opened. I CAN NOT persuade you! Get it? This post is apt because the OP was correct in calling-out the Christian for trying to persuade him to believe. And while I'm at it... Christians - PLEASE stop trying to convert others. Focus on your path and leave others to their own.
