Notice how you were aware enough to put "suspected" in your sentence, yet the gravity of that word doesn't seem to have seeped in at all? You're all too eager to condem this man on nothing more than heresay. Perhaps your seething political views have forced you to want him to be a derserter, so you can have one more political talking point to cry about.

Some soldiers he served with, one of them was his friend, and his own personal emails are pretty sound hearsay as far as I'm concerned. This whole forum is filled your own brand of naive and radical leftist political seething. There's plenty enough threads here that have been started for no other intention but to bash, judge and condemn Republicans on any array of issues...and it's damn both sides of the story with you guys. You're only interested in the left-wing account no matter how flawed or false the rhetoric. Too bad if you don't like threads about issues that reflect badly on barack and the democunts.

I'm not sure why I would care about issues that reflect badly on Barack or the Democrats, as I'm not fond of either. As far as I'm concerned, the Dems and Repubs are just two sides of the same coin(granted, one side being decidedly crazier and more dangerous than the other), as both of them seem to part of the true problem facing our country, and that is the corruption of money in our system. I just enjoy pointing out how eager you are to display your stupidity and blatant hypocrisy. Just think of me as an "A Thiest Agitator."Wink

As for the soldier, do you have a link supporting these e-mails? All I've heard of are the words of the soldiers he served with, and given how clique-y the military can be, I'm hesistant to condemn someone simply based on the words of his fellow grunts.

The reason that Obama didn't break the law is pretty simple. The law wasn't designed for this circumstances. The purpose of the law that was passed was to prevent Obama from just releasing prisoners unless he informed congress within 30 days. But this was a trade for prisoners. Not covered by this law.

Obama is a shill for the military industrial complex. Their laws are immoral. Fuck 'em.

There's a simple explanation for this. The GOP is so accustomed to screaming investigate Benghazi that investigate Bergdalh just rolled right off the tongue.

If he was a deserter, obviously he didn't belong in the military. Soldiers who are not immediately engaged in a combat situation should be allowed to give notice and leave the armed forces, with no penalty beyond perhaps repaying the government an early termination fee. Not only is that the right thing to do when you're waging a war that has very little legitimate value in terms of national defense, but it means that the country will be forced to approach such things with a great deal more sobriety.

Are you going to tell me that their job is vital and special? So are cops and firefighters, and they can walk out whenever they want.

Not even close. Wink

Heywood posted a link to those emails earlier in the thread. Here's a few more links about the emails, plus an interview that was done with two of those soldiers who served with Bergdahl. I don't know why you'd even look through the links though since you basically implied that you'll probably dismiss the words of his fellow grunts....and you probably won't accept the sources either since they don't align themselves with you politically...

Quote:“The US army is the biggest joke the world has to laugh at,” wrote Sergeant Bergdahl in an email later published by Rolling Stone magazine. “It is the army of liars, backstabbers, fools, and bullies."

Quote:(CNN) -- The sense of pride expressed by officials of the Obama administration at the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is not shared by many of those who served with him: veterans and soldiers who call him a deserter whose "selfish act" ended up costing the lives of better men.
"I was pissed off then, and I am even more so now with everything going on," said former Sgt. Matt Vierkant, a member of Bergdahl's platoon when he went missing on June 30, 2009. "Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war, and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him."

You're always welcome to do the only thing you can do about it: fuck off.

And you should believe it, because these are the words of A Theist, best known for his centrism, even-handedness and lack of political bias. Check out all of these examples.

Like he recently said, with a risible lack of irony, "Oh the Double Standards!"
