I am not planning to debate about God's existence, I just want to talk about some doubts that I have about the atheism way of thinking. I want to know if everyone thinks the same about atheism.

Let me give you some friendly advice. For most atheists here and anywhere on the net you might debate with, odds are very high it is not the first rodeo that atheist has encountered. It would be wise for you to do your homework first before taking us on, we know way more than you might think.

Secondly, if you take our blasphemy or cussing personally, you are going to be miserable here. When we attack somebody's claims we are attacking the claim, not the person.

Third. We do not treat any particular god claim or religion as being special, to us you are in the motor vehicle line with tons of others with other god claims "Take a number".

Unless you spam or preach or make criminal threats, you can have a long stay here. This website does not ban theists from joining, but it also is not a kids cartoon either.

Enjoy.

Sejanus:

Pornography enslaves you into offering limited pleasure without satisfaction, Jesus came to offer you freedom from the slavery of pornography. Can you live 1 year without looking at pornography?

JesusHChrist:

Do you practice fornication? Before you were created God knew you were going to fall into fornication, but God doesn't love humans by what they do or stop doing, He loves humans because He is love. You love fornication because you are born with a sinful nature that makes you love your sin. I used to be worse than you in that regard, I started with pornography at 11 years old, as a result of falling in pornography I fell in masturbation, then I had an inexplicable sexual attraction towards little girls, but was never brave enough to harass them because I knew there was something wrong with it. Even after a year of converting I had to battle to escape pornography until finally I was free from it. Having sexual desires is not a sin, sex becomes sinful when you use it for the wrong purpose. God created sex for two purposes: for reproduction and for physical satisfaction between a man and a woman inside the bounds of marriage. After a man and a woman have sex, an emotional tie is made, or what in the Christian view is called a soul tie, which is a tendency to depend emotionally towards the other partner, that is the reason why after a break up between couples there is always someone who gets hurt. But sex is not the only way of getting soul ties, getting along with someone of the opposite sex can set soul ties.

Kitanetos:

The person that wrote what you wrote is probably speaking from experience, I have some ideas about his/her conclusion: he was observing the group of believer s who were praying and the outcome of those prayers, but apparently he didn't see anything happening. He never bothered to have a serious relationship with God and because of that he/she never experience anything. He/she observed that the outcomes of prayers were working, but was always trying to find ways to scientifically and statistically explain the reason of the outcomes. God can allow believers to experience persecution and sickness, but that doesn't mean that He is punishing them, because He can use persecution to train believers for more difficult tasks. God allowed persecution with the Christian of the 1st century so that the Christians of the 21st century can have an idea of what following Jesus is like.

And a direct fall into preaching. A complete mischaracterization of your intent of your original post. Why do most theists need to lie about their purpose in joining? I thought that lying was a sin.

Agreed, but on a side note...

I never did understand the expression a metric shit ton.
After all a ton is an English unit of measure, so how does the term metric relate? Additionally, why "shit" ton? A ton is a ton is a ton - so why the expression 'shit ton' ??

These are all rhetorical questions. No one need answer them. Just a curiosity to me.

There is a rigid standard in this, Cinjin.

It goes like this.

Ass Load ---> Ton ---> Ass Ton ---> Dick Ton ---> Fuck Ton ---> Metric Fuck Ton
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Oh shit, now we have the thought police trolling us.

I like boobies and I jerk off. Do I care that you don't like that? Nope.

But, if you want to claim god is "all seeing", just remember that when you shit and pee or have sex. You do plan on getting married right? Even if you don't masturbate on your wedding night you'll have a cosmic peeping Tom watching you stick your dick in her vagina.

Now that I have read this post, I am thinking seriously you cannot handle being here.

You cannot know that for certain. In fact, that supposition is more indicative of a typical apologist argument than based on any real circumstantial validity.

Imagine that, needing verifiable proof to ascertain something is real. Who could have imagined it?

Of course it means he is punishing them. He has the power to end suffering, but instead he allows the suffering to continue. That is not an attribute of a benevolent creator.

Following Jesus is nothing more than foregoing with reason to accept that which has absolutely no evidence to support its existence. It is forsaking reality for fantasy.

Oh, many atheists are compelled to discuss reality and many like to debate with theists, but they are not so keen on dealing with preachy sorts. That sucks doesn't it? I suspect you won't last long here at all, Jose.

Have fun though. I'm off to find a Game of Thrones thread.
