You're making the assertion Matthew didn't write Matthew. Where's your evidence?

I... literally posted a link at the end of where I made that claim. Are you blind? It was the last sentence of the claim, and it was a link to a christian resource, by the way, so you can't level this "you're just saying that because you don't want to believe!" bullshit against them, because they do believe. They just are honest, where you are not. Dodgy

Links are nice but you never gave a reason why you think Matthew didn't write Matthew.

When I read the NT I trust with 100% certainty when Paul said he spent 15 days with Peter and they were both eyewitnesses.

They did not lie.

So Jesus is God, a liar, or a lunatic. Since He is not a lunatic or a liar, He is God.

Yes, I did: the gospels never indicate a name for their authorship, "Matthew" uses Mark as a source document, and the majority of modern gospel scholars agree that the gospels are written by anonymous authors. You've got no reason to think Matthew did write Matthew other than that it's convenient for you.

But I'm going to go ahead and believe the scholars who're actually educated in this over you, because you seem like a complete putz, the way you just repeat yourself over and over.

Quote:When I read the NT I trust with 100% certainty when Paul said he spent 15 days with Peter and they were both eyewitnesses.

I don't fucking care about your level of certainty. Why should I?

Quote:So Jesus is God, a liar, or a lunatic. Since He is not a lunatic or a liar, He is God.

Nice false dichotomy you have there. Not to mention, you didn't even bother proving Jesus wasn't a liar or a lunatic. Or that he was even real.

I find this to be a most powerful question: What better evidence could you ask for? If there is none then realize you have the very best evidence in the 27 books of the NT. God could not make it any better.

They don't have to. Church tradition says Matthew wrote Matthew.

There is no reason to suggest otherwise.

Why do you think Paul didn't write in 1 Cor. 15, Gal. 1 & 2 that he spent 15 days with Peter and spent time with James and John and shared the same eyewitness testimony of seeing Jesus resurrected?

If God couldn't do better than the NT then he must be a pretty shitty god.

I don't think he understands what evidence is. Or eye witness.

Or logic, or reasoning.

I can forgive those as they seem often to be a requirement of faith. But its worrisome that he could be on a jury and have no understanding of evidence.

It's all right. God told him the guy was guilty so it's cool.
