The Christian view of life being superior to the Atheist one

Life is fun because it is NOT everlasting. Pick your favorite movie, and only watch that for a month whenever you wanna watch TV.

True hell would be an eternal life, even if it is in the paradise.

I've heard that quite often from Atheists but I don't find it convincing.

As for christers believing they are saved through faith alone, i wonder how visceral that faith is ??

For an individual sitting in a pew Sunday morning at Pillar of Fire Repentance Southern Baptist Church of Miscellany Arkansas, he occasionally will have the uncharitable thought, "those poor DAMNED Mormons and Catholics !!!". And maybe once or twice a year, he might go a little further and think, "I bet they think the same about ME . . . "

S'pose he wonders who's right ?? Ever ??

And if he does, that faith he has in his One True Church is not inviolable.

Its the reverse that I don't get. If this life is simply a test for a better next one, why wouldn't you want to move on as quickly as possible. I believe this life is the only one I'll have - which is why what I do in it matters more to me.

the only reason and big reason why there is religion.
is the fear of the unknown if we hadn't had that fear there wouldn't
be a religion or religions to begin with.

Since, under the Atheist view we will all eventually die it will all be for naught in the end. Whereas in the Christian view the afterlife avoid this pessimistic outcome.

Obviously this approach ignores which view is true and better supported by the evidence so it is more judging both views in a vacuum so to speak. It seems to be just a variation of the "without God there is nothing to live for" claim.

Have you ever encountered this claim before? If you were to judge both views in a vacuum, would you choose the Christian view due to your desire to continue living and because what you did in your life would have mattered "more"?
What a depressing choice. But no, I would not choose the Christian view due to my compassion and love for humanity and life.
