Just made a big casserole dish of homemade macaroni and cheese, old Betty Crocker cookbook recipe, only with a full pound of cheese.

Really browned nicely and was hot and bubbly when removed from oven.

Made the house smell good too.

Bananas and cornflakes for breakfast.

Exotic, I know.

Having a beer right now after my dinner of a slice of bread and a nice wedge of cheese almost came up again whilst reading theist replies to the torture thread.

My lady friend is Korean, and she turned me on to Korean cuisine. I love it! In fact, lately I get these random midnight cravings for kimchi and will go through half a jar in a sitting.

I doubt that makes me pleasant to be around the next day. My co-workers have learned not to cross me after a night of such indulgence lest I crop dust the lot of them. Cool Shades

When my grandparents were alive they grew and firmented all kinds of kimchi, gochujang (hot pepper paste)http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gochujang and doejang
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doenjang
(firmented soy bean paste it looked like and smelled like rotten dog poo.)

But it tasted Awesome (it what they make miso soup from) a table spoon of doejang dissolved in a 1/2 quart of hot water, and boom best miso ever!

Our house growing up always smelled like hot death (rotting meat) and our neighbors hated us, but when it was time to sell, we would have all the Koreans in town over looking to buy. (This was before we got an Asian supermarket in town)

Even today in Korea all these foods are firmented well outside of town. Smell bad, taste good!

Just stay away from the gaegogi.

If you have me over for dinner, I promise you can proselytize all you want . . . so long as I'm allowed to A/S/K for second helpings.
