That's no gift at all what the fuck...

Fundys believe that babies born with Spina Bifida are 'specially blessed' because they get to go straight to Heaven and start kissing Hank's ass right away.

They also think Republicans are the godly party. Don't expect rational thought.

My dead grandpa, great uncle, great aunt, and another aunt would like to disagree with you, but sadly they aren't around to do so.

They were all Christians by the way; my great uncle and great aunt were quite devout as a matter of fact. Were their agonizing, slow deaths a gift or God's will? How is it that the faithful could be stricken with such a terrible illness while others, including non-believers, go through life without ever succumbing to a terminal illness?

Short answer: bad fucking luck. There's no God giving people cancer in a cruel attempt to open their eyes to him or any other such nonsense. People live, people die. Cancer isn't a gift for anybody and it's fucked up that you would say so.

It's starting to look like Drich is an imbecile. He's one more military reference away from being the first on my ignore list.

No one would blame you.

I'm not keen on those references myself. Pawpaw (my gramps) was in a real foxhole in Korea - you know, a real hell.

He is saying that if suffering brings you to get so desperate you are willing ti take the god placebo than cancer can be good.

It doesn't explain why Christians get cancer? I thought Christians believed in a fallen world

Kudos to your gramps. Much respect to the old soldiers. Those guys defined badass.

Cancer Like any of the other challenges or blessings have the potential to be a blessing or a curse. It just depends on where your heart and mind is.

For me the ever looming threat of cancer has been a tremoundous blessing in disguise. Because before this I simply did everything at work that others could not or didn't want to do. I've had almost 10 or 11 months to train and put certain responsibilities off onto the right people. Because my business needs to be able to run with or with out me. Right now I think it could with minimal help, where as a year ago if anything happened to me my wife would have to shut it all down.

The blessing? By being forced to push more responsibility off onto others takes a huge load off, frees up lots of time and worry. Which I have taken and reinvested into my work here and in other places.

Or I could have just ignored everything, and let it all come down around me when/if they start treatment.
