I used to like country way back in the day when I was a kid. At some point, I guess maybe in the late 90s or early 00s, country took on this God-lovin, patriotic bullshit that seemed to make its way into every song. When I listened to it, country music was about drinking, your woman leaving you, drinking, and drinking.
