Who do I despise more? Jesusists or insurance companies?

The only possible justification for this I can see is if her alterations lower the value of the vehicle and she has full coverage. Even that seems a stretch though.

I was wondering if it was a lease. If so, I could imagine the dealership being a little more persnickety about marring the paint with lettering, and that would be reflected in the fine print on the insurance. She might pay the premium, but the policy is protecting the dealerships resale value.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Shouldn't the lease contract and the insurance policy be two very different things though?

I would argue that she clearly already has an infallible insurance policy so taking out another one was clearly a joke.

In this case there's no contest. The insurance company wins by a long stretch. They do everything in their power to wiggle out of their contracts and are nothing more than scam artists. I had some encounters with them myself where the only solution was lawyering up to make them pay.

Payee is the dealership on a lease. If you own it, you're the payee.

I could see the dealership looking out for the dealership.
