ISIS Burns 8000 Rare Books and Manuscripts in Mosul

RE: ISIS Burns 8000 Rare Books and Manuscripts in Mosul
I totally get where 404 is coming from but I have to agree with Faith No More. I think the one difference is that we know war is horrific and that all sides are generally responsible for barbaric acts against innocent sentient beings, which is always more evil than destroying inanimate objects. Yet the concerted effort to destroy history that is about as close to sacred as I can imagine, and culture, and knowledge, is so contrary to what we truly know to be right, that it strikes a huge nerve quite separate from the anger I feel at the tragic murders. It's like a different level altogether, not to put a greater value on ancient books over human lives though.

Fundamentalists want to take us back to the dark ages. It's sad to see them having some success Sad

Fucking piece of shit bastards. If you want to be ignorant and deluded, keep it to yourself and leave the rest of us alone.

Pretty pathetic God you have if he's scared of cartoons and books.

'If those books are in agreement with the Quran, we have no need of them; and if they are opposed to the Quran, destroy them!' - Caliph Omar, regarding the library at Alexandria, c642 CE.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

ISIS is being useless to the world. They are not doing anyone or anything favors by destroying history and works of art including literature i am very displeased by what they did.
