'Caprica'

I've just tried to watch the pilot,but can't get into it. Plus, to me it has the same kind of feel-ish as the 'Twilight' movies, which I can't stand..

A sign of being an old reprobate I guess.,or perhaps I'm just fickle. However, I like the remake of 'V' and the remake of 'Survivors' .Not fond of 'Dr Who' who,but love 'Torchwood'. Love 'Fringe' but hate 'Heroes '(after the first series, which I thought was great) .


Be interested in other views about 'Caprica' .Is it worth persevering?

I didn't really get into it either. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near the drivel that is twilight though, that's just mean.

Didn't mean to equate them,just the' feel' of it.

Thank goodness I still have 9 episodes of 'Spooks', Season 3 to watch.

I've never even heard of Caprica (the series that is). I associate Caprica with the planet that the cylons attacked in Battlestar Galactica. Is it about that?

Okay, thank you for the info. Since I didn't like the new series of Battlestar Galactica, I doubt I will like Caprica. Still, it might surprise me.

Been watching it on hulu, I like it. I don't think it's groundbreaking or anything but it's enjoyable and keeps me entertained. I like what they're doing with the whole virtual avatar as a means to immortality.

I'm also amused by the irony that believers in the 1 true god are terrorists. There definitely is a lot of religion in it, but it's not preacher, it's just part of the story, because hey. Religion is part of people and why they make decisions.

However, wherever this show goes, I am hoping against hope that answers to any and all mysteries don't get answered by "God Did it". That's the only thing I hated about Battlestar Galactica. Great series, great stories, the ending, however, was severely disappointing except in a few key parts.

I find that of late I can't stand the usual popular science fiction because of the overpowering Science-is-bad bullshit. If only some classic sci-fi like "The Mote In God's Eye" or "Foundation" could be made.

Agreed, but give it time. I didn't believe they could make a decent series of 'DUNE' but they did. I quite liked it. To be honest though, I always thought Herbert should have quit after the first book.

I'd love to see series made of some of Heinlein's work,such as 'Stranger In A Strange Land". I've always lusted after 'Gay Deceiver'. (' The Number Of The Beast') I love Heinlein's satire of religion.


Just about anything by Doc Smith would translate well to a series today. (Star Wars is essentially a space opera,and owes a lot to Smith)
