The Pope Does a Crosswords Puzzle

He gets stuck at one point and calls for one of his cardinals for help. With a troubled look on his face, he asks the cardinal if he can think of a four-letter word for 'woman' that ends in 'unt'.
The cardinal thinks for a moment and says, "Aunt."
The pope brightens immediately and thanks him. Then he makes another request:
"Uh, do you have an eraser?"
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

It's usually just one a cross though, unless there's a shortage of wood.
