You can tell us maybe your whereabouts (UK or within the UK), how old you may be, what brought you to atheism (or any other line of thought), jobs/hobbies, and whatever other stuff is true about you.

Here, as per your title, you could open up the floor to questions about lesbianism, either within the atheist context or otherwise.

Soooo...

As a UK lesbian, have you been watching the SCOTUS news? Do you think that will improve your situation in the UK (whatever that even is)?
Hey there, thanks someone moved the thread Wink

Well, there was a cheer over here for the SCOTUS ruling! It's good when things like this happen for a whole country.

Although, I'm certainly not holding my breath that even though gay marriage is legal everywhere in the USA now, that it'll be accepted!

Can't say it's had a massive impact on us as a gay community here, as in England we won this right a short while back.

Has it had any major repercussions across the pond? I'm guessing there'll be some folks throwing their toys out their prams?

Can't say I've heard of it (doesn't mean it's not there though) but I'll have a look on Google, and if it's there I'll keep an eye open if we're passing..!

I'm in the UK too, in Kent. I would love to live in Brighton, it's awesome. It's certainly one of the most enlightened places.

Go green party!
Haha the greens now call Brighton a "safe seat" and its because Caroline Lucas although maybe not the best MP ever, does actually care!

I had a long chat with her in Waitrose recently as we were both queuing at the check out! We bonded over the 3 fit £10 meat offers..

Welcome! I am British and gay too - I guess that means we'll have to hate and ignore each other.  Wink

How was Pride in Brighton? It was my first time at one, in London, and it was great. I spent the day with some American lesbian ex-pats, celebrating the SCOTUS decision (I don't know what SCOTUS stands for but that's what everyone else is calling it so...)

I've never been to Brighton but my impression is it would be hard to tell the difference between a Pride weekend and a regular weekend.  Tongue
"Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is like when you trust yourself to the water. You don't grab hold of the water when you swim, because if you do you will become stiff and tight in the water, and sink. You have to relax, and the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging, and holding on. In other words, a person who is fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the nature of God and the universe becomes a person who has no faith at all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be."

Haha pride's not for another month in Brighton! But if u think it's manic on a normal weekend here, you've seen nothing yet!

I've managed to live asking the pride route in my last 3 properties (not by design) and its a great thing... I usually spend the first hour of pride selling vodka jelly shots, which then pays for the celebrations!

No you don't really need a licence, it's the one day where if your not doing any harm, the police turn a blind eye!

I've not been to the London one for many years now, why would I? Ours is on my doorstep and so much fun!

Is there an edit option after posting? Typos are the bane of my life!

Coolness! I've always voted green, and will probably continue to do so to keep pushing animal welfare and environmental issues.

Yeah, we have some hateful people on here but they are very much in the minority. Almost everyone is celebrating the gay marriage decision!
