question for all

1.  Do you believe the person of Jesus Christ existed in history?  Why (whether yes or no)?

It is a ridiculous comparison.  The amount and quality of the evidence in favor of one of these is far greater than the other.  It would be more comparable if you were going to ask us if Hercules and Jesus existed.

I thought his question was "How fast can I swim with sharks."

Quite fast.

Congratulations, you just added another level of stupid to the usual christian question.

Educating yourself on what is considered historical fact and what's not might be a useful first step to reality.

I have a question for you.  As there is as much documentation on the life of Zeus, including references in the bible, I ask you, did Zeus exist?

1. A historical jesus could have existed, but given little evidence and such more than likely he never existed at all.

2. He was the first president of the united states of america... do need i pull out a history book and throw it at you with that section open.

Am I confident in saying that theists have no issue in accepting that all other divine religious figures did not in fact exist which didn't belong to their particular flavour.

And they prove this with the same strength of proof in which they ask us to believe in theirs!

As it turns out, they fail to believe in gods that are mentioned in their bible and they seem to be willfully ignoring that fact.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
